Tell Me About Yourself: The Answer That Works

“Tell me about yourself.”

It is the most common interview question, and the easiest one to ramble through.

Use this shape: present, past, future.

“I currently [role]. Before that, I [relevant experience]. Now I’m looking to [goal].”

Example: “I currently manage a support team of six. Before that, I worked in sales for four years. Now I’m looking to move into a leadership role where I can build on both.”
